"Halving inflation": either it'll happen anyway because the calculation over 12 months will no longer include the time before prices reached this catastrophic level. Or it won't happen, because Sunak actually has no way to slow it and is at the mercy of Brexit effects. 🤷🏻‍♀️

He's still lying to you...

RT @petervhale: Just like Cameron, Sunak wants to reduce the Government deficit by forcing people into private debt.

@minogue732 @PetrocTrelawny @BBCRadio3 I think the confusion is from the idea of days (especially religious feasts) beginning at sunset on the eve. So the evening of 5th is the start of the 6th January and the start of Epiphany. So technically we should wait till this evening before calling it twelfth night.

RT @alisonkatebr: Having met many Sunak-esque figures, I honestly believe they are not incompetent or evil as such - they just have no social imagination whatsoever. They can't imagine a person who has the ability and chances but simply does not want, for example, to become a technocrat banker.

@SamLowryEsq Precisely. Much less dangerous and the money supply to people-smugglers would dry up, and other abuses too. Process the applications on board ship and then you have it all sorted out before they disembark.

RT @EmilyLincOBrien: A maths puzzle for new fan of maths, Rishi Sunak:

If today's food inflation is 13%, and of that, healthy food inflation is 15% while unhealthy food is 11%, what does that mean for the diets of hardworking nurses' families offered a 4% pay increase?

You can't cut waiting lists or get people seen in hospitals unless you can fill the vacances for nurses and doctors, and that means raising their pay and making working conditions realistic not manic. That costs money. Public spending. Not reducing the debt. Not austerity.

Reducing inflation doesn't help much does it? That just means the rate at which it gets worse slows down. It still gets worse and that means you have to raise the wages to match. To match what's happening now and then again to match the continued inflation. Prices still rise.

Speak for yourself Sunak. The rest of us want migration to be properly dealt with by safe routes and proper treatment of the refugees, and increasing spending on international aid. You don't get it, do you? The small boats are entirely your fault. They could be ended easily.
