What things do the government need to rectify?
1) Brexit and the border controls: destroying our businesses and making it hard to produce anything here, or import it from elsewhere, pushing up prices and reducing supplies, both from UK producers and from Europe and the world.

More economically illiterate interest rate hikes? What's actually needed is government action to rectify the things they have done that have caused the soaring inflation.
Inflation caused by scarce commodities can't be corrected by increasing the cost of borrowing and housing.

@nadinebh_ @willuminare I think that's the point it's making. It's a right wing idea of what fiscal responsibility is. A realistic idea of fiscal responsibility knows that you typically run a debt, borrow to invest, more like a business with staff and equipment, not like a household with a salary.

Are you surprised? I'm not. A basic knowledge of physics would tell you this. But of course the UK prefers to pretend that some expensive imaginary impossible new technology is better than the simple things that work. And will somehow put right all their destructive failures.

@tigerrector @liambeadle They wouldn't have that number of calls if (a) they weren't so bad at getting things done in response to requests and (b) they had branches where you could go in and solve the problem face to face with someone helpful.
