What things do the government need to rectify?
1) Brexit and the border controls: destroying our businesses and making it hard to produce anything here, or import it from elsewhere, pushing up prices and reducing supplies, both from UK producers and from Europe and the world.

More economically illiterate interest rate hikes? What's actually needed is government action to rectify the things they have done that have caused the soaring inflation.
Inflation caused by scarce commodities can't be corrected by increasing the cost of borrowing and housing.

@nadinebh_ @willuminare I think that's the point it's making. It's a right wing idea of what fiscal responsibility is. A realistic idea of fiscal responsibility knows that you typically run a debt, borrow to invest, more like a business with staff and equipment, not like a household with a salary.

RT @CarolineLucas: Cannot believe that @AlokSharma_RDG has not been allowed to answer COP26 Questions today, days before in Egypt. Just another sign that this climate-wrecking PM does not get it

RT @TonyCowards: Here’s the thing, if you wear a poppy but you support things like Manston Detention Centre, sending asylum seekers to Rwanda or wanting the RNLI to let people drown then, I’m sorry, but your values are actually more aligned with the people my grandad was fighting than “Our Boys”.

2% is not a pay rise. It's a pay cut.

RT @JackWorthNFER: The Times reporting that teacher pay rise may be set at 2% next year. Bank of England expects wider pay to rise 5.25% in 2023 and 2.75% in 2024, so this would be a further hit to teacher pay competitiveness, and likely undermine recruitment and retention even more

Are you surprised? I'm not. A basic knowledge of physics would tell you this. But of course the UK prefers to pretend that some expensive imaginary impossible new technology is better than the simple things that work. And will somehow put right all their destructive failures.
RT @daveprescott11: Hydrogen trains don’t make economic sense. Can someone tell the UK government? @rail @Captain_Deltic

RT @AlexTaylorNews: At last !! 👏👏
First time I've seen on major UK news programme a reminder that the UK receives FAR FEWER asylum claims than most EU countries - it's NINETEENTH in Europe per population !!

You wouldn't think so from most reports on it !

RT @MarinaPurkiss: Just truths

No ‘balanced’ debate

There were no think tanks on the show

No Tory MPs

No columnists from The Telegraph or The Spectator

…just 3 NHS doctors telling us how it is.

RT @MarkCranfield_: How is (impossible) net zero in 2050 going to prevent the breaching of 1.5C which is inevitable by around 2030?

It's pure unadulterated horseshit. There's not even the slightest attempt at plausibility. The public is treated with contempt.

This is looking like a really terrible prospect. We need to stop supporting extremists, wherever they are elected.
RT @MiddleEastEye: The people of Israel wanted a clear-cut result from election and they got it: a resounding win for the ultra-nationalist, Jewish supremacist right, driven by Itamar Ben-Gvir.

Ben-Gvir the far-right leader of the Otzma Yehudit party is the real winner

RT @peterwalker99: The worries? Firstly - and this is a TV-wide thing for such shows – the oddly adversarial tone, not least with the title. “We investigate the trouble between drivers and cyclists," it begins. Not once does it note that these are often the same people using different modes.

@tigerrector @liambeadle They wouldn't have that number of calls if (a) they weren't so bad at getting things done in response to requests and (b) they had branches where you could go in and solve the problem face to face with someone helpful.
