Terrifying. It costs more than it saves. Child poverty is expensive and cruel, destroys lives and prospects. Having enough to eat and a warm house is essential for educational attainment. Economic shambles is not a reason for choosing that bonkers policy.

Re @GreenJennyJones @catherinerowett That’s just brilliant. No sense of irony in arguing the House of Lords is fit for modern Britain and then critiquing a member for engaging the public via social media. Think he made your argument for you.

Nearly 70% of the public think that it was wrong to paint over the Mickey Mouse murals at a children's detention centre & only 11% thought that it was the right decision. Over 70% of both Labour AND Conservative voters thought that it was wrong - our latest polling in @theipaper

Re @ChrisJHutch74 It's more important to guard against the exclusion of those who use cash. We need to stand up against the hasty and problematic move towards cashless transactions. Use cash everywhere. That is a way of being free.

The first thing @TheGreenParty staff say to activists is "remember to take a break". "Look after yourself". In the event that there's no way to provide water or lunch, advice would be sent in advance about bringing snacks & water, and where they can be got.

Why do people still vote Conservative? They want a competent caring supportive government?
Oh no of course not. But they're afraid of an ULEZ, because they must have the right to drive a Chelsea TRACTOR, so as to put the poor in hospital, and then claim the NHS is too costly.

We need a government that understands how inflationary soaring mortgage rates and rent rises are. This is not funny. We have clowns and fools in power, and they care only about imprisoning protesters and legislating against the freedom to act on principle.

When should we have returned the Elgin marbles?
When they built the new museum in Athens for them? Or before that?

If a bank is partly publicly owned, is it more or less important that it takes seriously any business risks, reputational risks, prevention of money laundering of foreign assets, and integrity in all dealings? Or it's just as important, regardless of who the shareholders are?
