Re @northernmnkey @SimonPartridge @joycemcm @nmcinroy @NicolaSturgeon @NewEconomics @suzannezeedyk @NEF It's a bit of a myth that they would leave. Of course they wanted Brexit to escape the new country by country tax reporting.

Re @AdamRan57496354 Mainly the houses on very busy streets are the ones that the less well off have to live in, and they don't themselves drive a vehicle, so they are the victims not of their own pollution but that of others. And the really wealthy might go private for the hospital treatment.

Re @Shanks6791 If they are paying taxes like the rest of us to provide NHS treatment for those who are suffering from asthma from the traffic pollution, they might consider whether they're really saving anything. We don't advocate clean air for fun. It's because it's less costly to us all.

I like the ‘Labour is the political wing of Just Stop Oil’ line. Makes the ‘The Tories are the political wing of the fossil fuel industry’ or ‘The Tories are the political wing of Russian Oligarchs’ lines write themselves.

Re @SpeyeJoe @OccupyNN @LauraPidcock We need to scrap everything that's designed to keep people in poverty as a penalty for daring to be needy. It's more costly to society than supporting them properly and its only purpose is to ensure that there are further unequal chances for those born with unequal chances.

When you thought the government couldn't lose any more credibility. It's all the most hideous performance art, of a totalitarian sort.
