@keith_wilson It's partly Brexit-related, in that Brexit is pushing up prices, putting British farmers out of production and adding obstacles, but there's plenty of food in other shops. So the reason why supermarkets in Europe have plenty and ours don't is actually our supermarket system.

Britain's weird supermarket culture is dysfunctional. Nowhere else has it. But it's part of the disgraceful culture of low pay/cheap food which puts farmers out of business and damages productivity. Economically illiterate, and a threat to food security.

RT @greenbenali: No just government would take away human rights from refugees

This is grotesque and outrageous. It’s a clear breach of our international obligations

@TheGreenParty will fight these proposals at every step

@GreenJennyJones dispels Suella Braverman's false claim that the Government are attempting to stop people smugglers with their cruel new legislation 👇

Suella Braverman is a disgrace to this country. I can see who needs to be deported as a threat to our values, and it's not the people she's attacking.

@littlegreydog3 Because the person who controls the vehicle is responsible for controlling it and taking steps to avoid killing people. It's unlikely that the driver had any control of which line his train was on or whether another was on the same line.

Good to see Bishop Graham in the congregation and joining us during supper yesterday.
RT @bishopnorwich: Good to be in the congregation with this community as they gather for their monthly service and supper, and to hear the thankfulness of many for the proposed ‘Prayers of Love and Faith’.

@littlegreydog3 Just pointing out that the millions killed on the road every day are not news, because we've normalised the expectation that drivers will crash and kill people. Whereas when a train crashes, or a plane, or an earthquake or a tornado, the death toll is considered a disaster.

RT @Andrew9Boswell: .@ObserverUK reports ministers have been warned of further net-zero legal challenge

Govt still consent new carbon belching road schemes as if net-zero is 100% secured &therefore no new road makes a difference(see clips👇).

@littlegreydog3 @greenbenali On the contrary. What he is doing is illegal but the people he is attacking have a legal right to seek refuge and we have a legal obligation to provide a safe way for them to do so and a speedy decision on whether they qualify (which we are not doing).

Since judgements about crime necessarily involve questions about intentions and motives and proportionality between the damage done and the need to take action, it is surely completely bizarre to outlaw any mention of the problem the alleged criminal was trying to fend off. 🙄🤔
RT @JolyonMaugham: I have to say, I think the thing that actually brings the law into disrepute is a judge sentencing you to seven weeks for talking about the environment during your defence…

RT @JolyonMaugham: If the law is that you can be sent to prison for protesting against the destruction of our planet and then sent to prison again for explaining why, the law needs little help being brought into disrepute. It is disreputable to start with.

RT @Tom___Scott: Classic case of what journalists call 'burying the lead.

The real story here is that Matt Hancock & Rishi Sunak hid the fact that was killing people.

But the Telegraph wants to promote the fiction that new variants were nothing to worry about.

What does he think she culled? Additional incriminating evidence that showed he was up to his eyes in lies and parties?
The problem was that she didn't get a chance to do the job properly. They decided they preferred the metropolitan police.

Johnson has been cornered. He has no room to manoeuvre so relies on damning defence that he had no idea what his own rules were. Obviously false. He lied to the House and is happy to keep lying now - he is contemptuous of people who sacrificed so much and is not fit to be an MP
