Whenever the headline uses the passive voice, ask yourself what the active voice version would say and why they didn't want you to hear that.
RT @PDeepdive: Hey @BBCWorld, these are not "clashes". This is a massacre.

Stop using the passive voice & start accurately reflecting the reality of Israel's ongoing crimes against the Palestinians it illegally occupies in your headlines.

RT @JimfromOldham: 🚨SEWAGE SCANDAL🚨

Why has @Ofwat watered down guidance intended to stop the ?

They’ve changed the very definition following “consultation with stakeholders”.

These changes send out the wrong message. We demand the Environment Secretary takes action now!

Ideas for what a leader of the opposition should stand for?
1. Proportional Representation
2. Renationalise the NHS and other crucial services
3. Stop measuring success by growth and look at eliminating inequality and unequal life chances
4. Plan a route back to the EU.

@Rita14432652 @getprdone @Keir_Starmer @UKLabour Labour is not interested in democracy (nor in ridding us of the Tory strangle hold on Westminster).

Keir Starmer disappointingly buying into unimaginative business-as-usual lack of vision. Failing to lead the way to security on energy, health or food supply. Growth is an outmoded measure of success.
Real success is measured in whether we can thrive without destroying our world.

RT @natalieben: A government wholly unattached to reality.

How many workers can just tell the boss to add to their hours? What about care responsibilities? What about public transport availability?

@DavidRobjant @Pomfretiana1 The toffs in Westminster didn't really like the fact that while we were in the EU, ordinary workers could afford to eat something other than turnips. Brexit was about putting us back in our places. Turnips for dinner till harvest is in. And you do the harvest or go hungry.

@DavidRobjant It's not "because they have lots of shops". It's that we also have some shops that have tomatoes, but the pressure to keep everyone too poor to shop there means that those shops can scarcely survive here.

@DavidRobjant For sure it's Brexit. Because the Supermarket approach to depressing prices depends upon a supply of produce at below cost prices. And the prices are too high for them because Brexit, the price of gas and other things to do with this government and its failures on food security.

@DavidRobjant @Pomfretiana1 I'm not promoting seasonal produce in any of these tweets (though sure it's good to be aware of what's in season and available locally).
Here I am observing that we do have plenty of tomatoes from Spain & Morocco but they're not in supermarkets. Not due to Brexit.

RT @RichardBurgon: The Parliamentary Debate I’ve secured on MPs' second jobs takes place today.

I'll be calling for a ban on them.

I've written to Boris Johnson - the MP with the highest outside earnings - calling on him to attend and defend the millions he's raking in.

@Pomfretiana1 Yes I'm waiting for the "yes but" response. It'll include a description of where they live and the fact that there isn't any longer a village shop. And that cars are essential because there's no bus service. And nothing about why they live there or why those things closed.

It would have been good to include a Green Party politician for a control measure. This makes it seem as if negative ratings are the norm.
RT @keiranpedley: We've got some new favourable numbers from @IpsosUK tonight. Not good news for Rishi Sunak - who registers his worst favourable ratings as PM.

Rishi Sunak
Favourable 27% (-3 from Jan)
Unfavourable 46% (+7)
Net -19

Starmer largely unchanged at net -7

Those other countries. You see those pictures of fruit and veg in Europe? They have shops. Lots of shops. 15 minute cities. Multiple places to browse the produce. Market stalls, mini markets. The fruit's not in plastic.
Yes we have those shops too.
Go there. They have 🍅 too.

Resist. Do different. We don't have to let the supermarkets destroy the good life. It's part of the plan that makes us the least happy place in Europe.
Break it. Buy at your local greengrocer. Go on foot.

Empty shelves? It's not just a thing. It's a low wage economy thing.
Supermarkets use a "we pay the prices we set, not what farmers need" approach. It's essential to the government's plan of misery for workers & profits for shareholders.
Only here.
