RT @StopSizewellC: High energy bills: "Widespread agreement from energy experts on best solutions: large rapid insulation programme and faster rollout of wind and solar, about 9 times cheaper than gas, as well as short-term support for bill-payers" Nuclear? Nope.

Increasing our production of fossil fuels is surely one of the stupidest things you could possibly do when we face an existential crisis that is solely and completely due to our addict to fossil fuels.
RT @_richardblack: Is there not a huge phallus on this picture?

I see Lord Pannick is panicking lest Boris Johnson be found guilty of some of his (innumerable) lies to Parliament (& outside it).
Methinks he doth protest too much.
What has already deeply damaged UK democracy is the appearance that politicians can get away with that.

@DavidRobjant Well he'll need to come to court from his new accommodation, maybe using the bus if there is one.

RT @HenryKangaroo: Bingo! The Heritage Foundation. Funny that this is the one meeting he doesn't publicise...

Also, Ryan Bourne is a Cato Institute Policy Scholar & ex Head of Public Policy at the Institute of Economic Affairs

Looks like Truss will be handed her orders from day one.

Boris Johnson should be put into private rented accommodation and paid the minimum wage, and made to buy a kettle out of the wages, and then see how he gets on with finding food and warmth for his family.

@jbond @DAOBarry Yes EV charging is a good idea for local mini grids round a community solar or wind installation. Heating a body of water, to store for winter heating is also a good one.

Love how the arts carried on at the Brexit festival doing their own thing, as they should 😂
Glad they got the funding even though no one went to see.
RT @TheHouseMag: 👨‍💻 Kindred, a VR exhibition, told the story of a trans parent adopting a gender-questioning toddler

🥕 Dandelion, a three-day music festival that combined tutorials on growing vegetables with world music, insisted in its contract Brexit not be mentioned anywhere …

RT @jbond: @catherinerowett With sea level rise from climate change, it will be under water. Those once in a hundred year floods will be coming faster than expected on that coastline.

@jbond @DAOBarry Hydrogen is an option, though very inefficient. Cheap old fashioned storage systems are likely to be more effective at enabling us to keep renewable energy at the price of production (tiny price that we never see as consumers here because of the absurd price caps system).

🐦🔗: nitter.eu/catherinerowett/stat

@DAOBarry @jbond Yes, wind curtailment is the stupidest thing, and it's largely down to inadequate investment in storage (especially pumped and other physical non battery storage) and the inadequate grid. We can't run electric trains because the grid can't cope. Yet we keep building generation 🙄

RT @DAOBarry: @jbond @catherinerowett It’s the opportunity cost that gets me; what the 30 Billion could have been spent on. Namely, first priority reconfiguring the Grid. This is needed as the grid evolved to support a small number of big - originally coal powered- stations distributing power to lots of consumers,

Yikes!
"I don't think young people should join other parties just because they don't like the Conservatives".
But maybe they're right to join @TheGreenParty for a party that pays proper attention to things that matter?
Is that it?
(Avert your ears from the creep in the hat).
RT @bmay: Jesus Christ. The one in the hat wins for me. Warning: your IQ may halve watching this.

@MusicalGeisha Because other people are very glad to take the gas we used to buy, that wasn't from Russia, and will pay a lot for it. But it's true that we are not seeing the true cost of the renewables, which is much lower.

It won't help this generation.
In fact it'll add £30billion to the bills we already can't afford.
It won't help the next generation: it comes in too expensive, and renewables are cheaper and quicker.
And it'll use all our drinking water so we won't be there by then.
RT @BorisJohnson: Sizewell C will create tens of thousands of jobs and power 6 million homes – roughly a fifth of all the homes in the UK.
