RT @niklas_gohl: Does the 9-Euro-Ticket reduce air pollution? In our new working paper Philipp Schrauth and I show that the ticket causally reduced a benchmark air pollution index by aprroximately six percent.

@SE25A Oh I don't think I was muted or blocked but I apologise if you think I am rude. I'm not aware of having been in touch with you on any occasion.

Incidentally I could have caught the 11:13 Eurostar from Paris, to shorten the time by an hour. That would mean London by 1230 pm! 😊😊😍😍
But it seemed safer to book the 12:13.

@OlGingerBastard @natalieben Trains and flights should be properly priced to reflect their destructive contribution to the environment.

🐦🔗: nitter.eu/catherinerowett/stat

@OlGingerBastard @natalieben 8) you queue for luggage, customs & passports.
9) you take a bus to where you actually wanted to be (to which the train would have taken you).
10) you've wasted 24 miserable hours of your life and in the process have done your extra bit to destroy the planet.
False economy.

@OlGingerBastard @natalieben 4) you spend a couple of hours queuing for check in, queuing for security, queuing for boarding, 5) you lose 5 hours to finding your flight is cancelled or delayed
6) you sit on the runway waiting for a slot
7) once airborne, you spend some very uncomfortable hours in the air.

@OlGingerBastard @natalieben If you take a cheap flight instead
(1) you pack the night before, leaving out all the forbidden bottles and blades
(2) you lie awake all night afraid you won't wake up to catch the airport bus
(3) you take an absurdly early bus because there might be a traffic jam

If you actually voted the way you would like to vote, would the person you want to win actually win? Of course we need PR to help you be sure, but even without, if you just did it...
(Then we could bring in PR, see?)

RT @greenmattbfd: 🚌 The Conservatives have left a blackhole in the funding for vital bus links

💸 This is a and millions rely on buses

💡 @TheGreenParty would bring buses under public control + ensure funding is available to run and improve services

To address the cost of living crisis you have to address the causes and the structural issues that are draining all the solutions into further problems. Sticking plaster and price caps do nothing at all to resolve it.
Journalists need to ask for the long term strategy!

@DAOBarry @unsereOEBB @oebbjets @Eurostar @greatnorthern @EastMidRailway It would take longer than a night, so it's not really a big deal to change in Paris, and do the night time bit on the Paris to Vienna leg. But a sleeper from other parts of the UK to Paris and Brussels would be good.

Yay. We just need to keep making it clear that exemptions for the rich and wasteful are not acceptable. Let's make this clear everywhere and for everything. Not just water.

RT @Bandraidoir: BP paid zero tax last year, but received £106Bn in tax credits...

That's one hell of a subsidy when Tories can't even build one of the 40 hospitals we were promised, or give destitute nurses a pay rise, forcing them to use food banks?
