It will create an absolute prohibition on subsidies to fishing in high seas outside regulated areas and will bring an unprecedented level of transparency, whilst not depriving developing countries from accessing fisheries subsidies - just eliminating the harmful ones!

After many years of long & thorough negotiations, we are very close.

We must reach a deal on fisheries subsidies.
It will help us make our oceans healthier, resilient & productive while fighting illegal fishing.
