Vandaag nam het Europees Parlement het rapport aan dat laat zien dat de Hongaarse rechtsstaat is afgegleden tot een autocratisch regime. Mijn boodschap aan de Commissie en Raad is dan ook: zet alle mogelijke fondsen stop totdat Orbán de rechtsstaat volledig heeft hersteld.

Next week, I will be in Greece to further assess the pushbacks, rights violations and silencing of critical voices. The LIBE committee also invited the NL and BE to explain their deteriorated reception conditions. All MS must respect the right to asylum and share responsibility.

At the #SOTEU, solidarity with Ukranian refugees was praised, but EC and EUCO stay silent as thousands of refugees are being pushed back. Meanwhile asylum seekers are forced to sleep outside because countries fail to organize themselves. This race to the bottom is unacceptable.
