This whole episode is just another reminder that you can't ignore the anti-Western axis (Russia, Iran, Houthis, Hamas, Northkorea) because sooner rather than later they will come for us. It is better to strike them on their own soil and fix the issue. The root cause, however, is not only Yemen but Iran. They are the architects of this.

The young man underwent excellent scout training, having received many skills - as can be seen from the uniform that was at the burial. He received his higher medical education at Columbia University. He had a great future as a doctor. Last summer, he arrived as a volunteer in Ukraine. He served in the Foreign Legion. He died on November 24. He was recently buried as a Marine and scout at Arlington military cemetery in the United States. Thank you, my friend, for your service. That I came and helped as much as I could. By paying the highest price, staying true to your youthful oath - to help others. Eternal glory to the Hero! Be prepared!

The night was calm in Kyiv. Unfortunately, not everywhere in Ukraine. 10 drones were downed in Odesa Oblast and one more in Mykolaiv Oblast overnight, with the city of Odesa suffering two attacks.

I am later today, as it was a busy morning. And it looks like the rest of the day will be just like that. It is difficult to plan something now. See you later.

RT by @StevensHelga: Few days ago, I wrote about the need to protect certain critical production lines so that they are unaffected by strikes and other actions. Some took this as an attack against the unions and the right to strike, which it wasn't. People should always be able to call for decent wages and working conditions, that's one of the cornerstones of democracy.

But let's take a look at the hard facts and numbers: in 2022, Russia QUADRUPLED their 152mm production to 1 million. In 2024 they are expected to reach 2-3 million rounds of ammunition. In addition, they produce 200 missiles per month and 300-500 Geran-2 drones per month.

Russian factories work triple shifts, 6 days per week, and they've set laws that enable the defence industry to appropriate manpower and materials as needed to meet the demands of the war.

In short, the Russians have prepared their whole industry and economy for long-term war. And Russia is not alone; its partners in North Korea and Iran are producing them munitions, too. And all these will be sent to destroy Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Europe produced approximately something between 480 000 and 700 000 rounds in 2023. Meeting Ukraine's MINIMUM demand rate together with the US (whose deliveries can no longer even be trusted), would require a European effort of 140% increase during 2024.

Even two day delay in these times can be critical, and we shouldn't lull ourselves into thinking that Russia will slow down in the upcoming years - one third of their total budget is going to feeding their war machine.

And this is why Europe needs to both 1) ramp up the military production (and pay the workers enough as well as provide them good working conditions), and 2) protect it from any potential stoppages.

RT by @StevensHelga: The latest attempt by chancellor Scholz to organize a swap deal with UK and Ukraine where TAURUS missiles go to UK so that more Stormshadows can be transferred to Ukraine is as shameful as it is illogical. It defeats almost every excuse Scholz and other SPD members where bringing up, such as that it would leave Germany vulnerable. How does a transfer of missiles to UK instead Ukraine make Germany not weaker? Absolutely ridiculous. Ukraine needs this missile for a specific purpose which the Stormshadow cannot deliver. I laid this out in a post a few months ago and it hasn’t changed.

This German government is the manifestation of political embarrassment. It has nothing to do that Ukraine might use this missiles against targets in Russia (even though it would be perfectly ok). Scholz and the rest of the SPD are terrified by the thought that a German missile might destroy Putin-Russia’s pride, the Kerch Bridge. This bridge is the “problem”, together with the interference of the Schröder cartel within the SPD.
