Key points from my speech today in the @europarl_en debate on the #EUUkraineSummit:
1️⃣ The fight the people of #Ukraine are fighting is also our fight.
We can only live in safety and stability in the #EU if we are surrounded by countries which are stable & at peace. 1/3

3️⃣ We must do more to sanction #Russia & to support Ukraine financially.
We can integrate Ukraine further even before #EU accession. Ukraine joining the #EUSingleMarket will benefit us all. 3/3

2️⃣ Supporting Ukraine is in the fundamental interest of #Europe.
Measures we took last year, such as the €18 billion support package put forward by the @EUCommission, will allow #Ukraine to pay salaries & pensions, to keep hospitals & schools going. 2/3
