I welcome that during the EU-PRC HR Dialogue, EU representatives mentioned explicitly concrete cases of human rights violations & crimes against humanity committed by the PRC as per letter to @EamonGilmore & @JosepBorrellF by myself & cross party-group of colleagues.

We must see see clear improvements in human rights situation in the PRC. Without concrete steps by the totalitarian CCP (& the reality is that human rights situation is deteriorating, not improving), the Dialogue remains an empty exercise that will only serve CCP propaganda

It’s disturbing that #HongKong is only mentioned generally with no concrete cases (incl Jimmy Lai, the ‘47’, Cardinal Zen & many others) raised. The EU MUST continue to speak out for Hong Kong’s pro-democracy activists & others oppressed by the CCP
