Today @EUCommission proposes new rules to protect rights of adults in need of legal support
New rules establish:
➡️which court has jurisdiction
➡️which law is applicable
➡️conditions for powers of representation to take effect
➡️how authorities can cooperate

The proposal also aims to harmonize conflict of laws and jurisdiction rules among Member States, ensuring mutual recognition and enforcement.

🇪🇺 @EU_Commission also encourages all Member States to ratify the Protection of Adults Convention.
This will guarantee the protection of adults also in situations involving non-EU States.
