Thanks for the advice Nadhim. People tend to be careful with their own cash - a whole lot more careful than when they spend other peoples’ money.

So can I politely suggest the Gov cut back on its wasteful spending - like diversity officers in NHS, like HS2, NetZero compliance.

Heating homes uses only 21% of the total, so talk about insulating our homes to solve the energy crisis is nonsense. It will make a difference at the margin but that’s it.

There is no shortage of fuel - it’s under our feet!

Fact is - the Gov subsidize the windfarms at a price that was historically 10 times more than the gas price, in order to get to net zero - and the Grid prioritises this. Mad!

We know the energy crisis is going to last for circa 2 years as gas futures are half the current price in 2 years time.

So why not change our strategy to get to Net Zero by 2050 and instead make it 2052 and we can ditch all the expensive Green crap for a couple of years?

Anyone who’s been following me on twitter for a while will know I have been banging on about fracking for a year.

We could have been live by now with shale gas if it was fast- tracked and with renegotiated cost-plus contracts could have solved our energy crisis.

@JuliaHB1 We could face many biz bankruptcies this winter as businesses can't pay energy bills. If they go bust, the knock on effect on suppliers can be devastating too. HMRC take their share of liquidation proceeds before creditors which doesn't help. Let's rank them equally.

HS2 is budgeted to cost £107billion. Only about 10% has been spent so far, most of which is acquisition of land and property which can be resold without loss.

@trussliz must end this wasteful project urgently and release resources available for private sector growth.

27million households will be forced to pay £1500 extra on energy bills this Oct. That's £40.6billion

The Gov raises £40billion in green taxes each year. They could use this to pay.

Or maybe dedicate the £11.5billion foreign aid budget to help our citizens through this crisis

All these renewable energy companies are making billions in profits after having received huge subsidies from the taxpayer. All these subsidies should be returned now! And the CFDs must end. We need real competition.
