EU policy makers must know what the real situation is facing #steelworkers in Europe!
➡️We urgently need a European industrial and investment strategy.
➡️We need #steel companies to behave socially responsibly.
➡️We need a strengthening of social dialogue on ALL levels.
This needs to be a success story for Europe 🇪🇺because if it isn’t, the backlash will cost us a lot, it will lead to deindustrialisation.
The longer we delay, the higher the cost of action.
Social conditionalities must be attached to public money. This is how we build social acceptance in the transformation. Social dialogue is critical!
We call on the @EU_Commission for a legal framework on a #JustTransition and we expect you all to deliver for steel workers! Says @Jude_KD
