humanitarian crises in the🌍 with almost 70% of the population in need of aid.
 
The 🇪🇺 continues to support vulnerable Yemenis, with €136 million in 2023.

Good meeting with the new 🇧🇦 Minister of Security @Nesic_Nenad_ today in Brussels.

We focused on the changing risk landcape in Europe and beyond as well as the necessary strengthening of joint efforts, including through the #EUCivilProtectionMechanism, ensuring #EUsolidarity.

More than a year ago the 🇪🇺 started organising medical evacuations of Ukrainian patients to relieve the pressure on 🇺🇦's healthcare system.

Today we mark more than 2,000 transfers of Ukrainian patients to hospitals across Europe, coordinated by the #EUCivilProtectionMechanism.

During #EHF2023 we have discussed common solutions to 🌍 humanitarian challenges.

Among the most alarming is the widening funding gap.

I proposed a common target of global humanitarian funding, shared proportionately by a fixed percentage of GNI reserved for humanitarian aid.
