A superb story for #BlackHistoryMonth. Laurie Nurse, originally from British Guyana, was awarded an immediate Military Medal for Bravery in the Field at Anzio in June 1944. Commissioned as an officer, he left the army in 1962 and died in Birmingham in 1984
