So sad to learn of the death of Terry Hall. His music was an important part of my youth. The Specials’ version of ‘Rudy, a message to you’, would be one of my desert island discs, along with ‘Our lips are sealed’ by the Fun Boy Three. Such a talent.

One of my oldest friends passed away today. He was one of life’s real characters with a wicked sense of humour. Taken far too young at 53, he had his demons, caused by his dependency on alcohol, yet, never hid his addiction, nor looked for an excuse. Rest in peace ’Rockin Phil’ x

During #WW2 RAF Fighter Command men were famously known as ‘The Few’. In my book, Bomber Command men were the ‘The Many’, having lost 55,573 men including my Uncle aged 22. The last of their generation to survive the war are now passing to a better place.
