RT @RoyalFamily: 👑 On the first day of the weekend and the anniversary of The Queen’s Coronation, we look back on Her Majesty’s life of service from her time as a young Princess supporting the war effort to her extraordinary commitment to her role as Monarch.

@simplysimontfa @oflynnsocial It’s never who you think it’s going to be. No one thought that Corbyn, Cameron, Milliband or Duncan-Smith, to name but a few would lead their respective parties. Hence, I backed Zahawi at 25/1. He’s the obvious outsider. And I think the next Labour leader will be Wes Streeting.

@MikeFoster1403 @LouisStephen Are you sure that they weren’t filming the new series of “Candid Camera”?

RT @oflynnsocial: Brian Labone in shot too. Four kids from a single non-fee paying primary school who rose to the very top of four different ultra-competitive occupations. Doubt it would happen today.

@Barcajim3 Asking a lady what she wants to drink, and getting the immortal reply: “A pint of bitter and a pork pie”. A true story from my father’s younger days. He was still laughing about it, aged 70.

@johnphillips185 @greeneking I didn’t know that. I’d been in Norwich on a valuation day and had stopped to see a client in Bury. Will be up again in July, so will drop you a message. Many congrats on your book release. Be lucky!

@johnphillips185 @greeneking I was in Bury St. Edmunds this evening. If only I’d known. Would’ve stretched myself to buying you a couple of pints!

Remembering one of life’s characters, my brother Rob, on what would’ve been his 57th Birthday. I’ve buried my parents & a young wife, but losing a sibling really does bring home your own mortality.

A true legend of British sport has passed away. Possibly the greatest to have graced “The sport of Kings”. To think that he won his first Epson Derby in 1954, and his last 29 years later in 1983. Rest in Peace - “The Long Fellow”.

@DemocratSteve Also, a previous Austrian landlady of “The Cardinal’s Hat” in Friar Street, Worcester similarly faced prosecution for selling her lager in litres in her German themed pub. It was ridiculous. The bureaucrats who pursued such cases should still be holding their heads in shame.

@DemocratSteve For me, the issue was all about choice & the threat of prosecution for daring to sell in either imperial or metric, depending on the product. I knew Steve Thoburn, saw what it did to him & still believe that it caused the heart attack that killed him at a young age. Unforgivable.

@GJuliagoode Absolutely, and that’s my point. It’s about choice, and thought of facing prosecution for not being able to exercise that choice was disgraceful.

I’ve always favoured imperial measurements & would welcome their increased use, but accept that a generation has grown up using metric. The EC directive forcing the change to metric was flawed in not giving the shopkeeper or customer any choice. We must not repeat that mistake.

@danaadamnika 1. Trust your instinct - It’s s nature’s inbuilt defence mechanism. 2. Keep away from people who have demonstrated that you cannot trust them whatsoever.
