On here’s my favourite photo of my Mum, who passed, far too young, some 36 years ago. Happy memories X

Home from a night in London with my wife. Spent today showing her some of the tourist spots that, Londoners like me, often take for granted. Including the magnificent, but not so well known .@CWGC Tower Hill Memorial. A magnificent tribute to those lost in our Merchant Navy.

Just heard that legend Victor sadly passed away. He tapped me for many a few quid & hundreds of cups of tea in the old days down East Lane. One of South London’s finest old characters. If you knew ‘the phantom raspberry blower’ then you knew Victor. Bless him.
RT @AgeUKLS: Today at Yalding Healthy Living and Learning Centre we said our goodbyes to the Bermondsey Legend Victor.
R.I.P Victor from all of the staff and members at Yalding. #…

Good to get down to the Artic Stadium to watch @CrayValleyPM tonight. We had the run of the game, but, alas, it wasn’t to be. Heads up. We can still make the play offs. Come on you Millers!

Lovely to get out today with my old club, for the first time in ages. I even managed to get my ‘Jack Russell fix’, courtesy of one of the club members. I found a few old buttons and a Georgian coin, but it was great to blow away a few cobwebs on a Sunday morning.

Just paid my respects to my late wife’s uncle & old friend Harry, at his funeral. Aged 93, he was a boy soldier veteran of WW2 & later Palestine, Malaya, Korea & Nigeria. He was undoubtedly, one of the last remaining West African Frontier Force veterans. A true gentleman.

My Twitter Interaction Circle generated by TwitterCircle.com - A few faces that I didn’t expect to see, and a few missing that I thought I would’ve seen - My immediate thought was how different this is to what it would’ve been a year ago.

Two days into the New Year and paintings, a silk wall hanging and mirrors have been hung on the wall - Hardly an achievement you might think, until I confess that it’s been a year since the builders left.

The campaign medals of Othman, most probably a Zanzibari Muslim. A long serving Seedie in the Royal Navy, he fought in Egypt, three East African campaigns & the Boer War. Sadly, history nowadays largely ignores the service of such men, who don’t fit today’s political narrative.

I’ve not lost my touch. A quick complimentary umbrella repair for my old friend & client @PgarrittyPaul. Best of luck at Cheltenham tomorrow - And don’t forget my friends at @InceUmbrellas, if you’re a bookie looking for a new ‘mush’.

Just had one of those weird coincidence moments - I bought this pair of medals on eBay to my family name, some years back & put them away. Having come across them again, after some quick research, it turns out that he was my Grandfather’s cousin Fred. I’m lost for words.
