🎉Today is #WorldSoilDay!

This year I negotiated and passed the Environment Action Programme, which provided for EU legislation on soil health for the first time ever.

As of 2023 we will legislate on soil health in the same way we do for air and water quality! 🍃🫧

Transparency rules in the EU Parliament are not strong enough for people to know who is lobbying who 🇪🇺

All elected representatives meet with interest groups, from farming groups to TidyTowns committees. Those meeting should be on the public record.

Disappointed in Fisheries Committee MEPs today saying we are trying to be "too ambitious" in restoring ocean ecosystems 😕

@eliz4davidson @greenparty_ie @ciarancuffe I am also in regular contact with both Min. McConalogue and the Commission, pushing for the reinstatement of the ban on inshore trawling. I spoke in the Committee on marine restoration and protection today. It is a priority for my office.

@eliz4davidson @greenparty_ie @ciarancuffe Hi Elizabeth! I am on the Fisheries Committee, but I am a substitute member so I do not have a vote. Our Group fully supports the measures allowing Member States to restrict fishing in inshore waters, and our vote reflected that.
