@patrickvkelly @EPPGroup @FineGael Hi Pat, the Irish EPP delegation are not involved in the negotiations in this committee directly but all MEPs have a role to play in getting their political Group on board. I hope they adopt a more constructive approach.

On the same day people gather outside the Dáil for Nature Restoration, @EPPGroup MEPs are walking out of negotiations.

Even when we fundamentally disagree on policy we always engage in negotiations. It's what we are elected to do.

@halftwottered @ClaraAguilera7 @PacoMillanMon @VSinkevicius @Pierre_Ka @IzaskunBilbaoB @hjaruissen @GreensEFA @greenparty_ie Fisheries control measures have no relation to quota. However we have achieved an improvement of monitoring of catch which will clamp down on misreporting and rule breaking in the EU industrial fleet.

Deal struck at literally a minute to midnight!

Tonight we closed negotiations on the most significant reform of Fisheries Control measures in over twenty years 🐟

A tough slog seeking fairness for fishers and sustainability for our ocean 🌊

🔥In the middle of a biodiversity and climate crisis, we are seeing calls for a "pause" on environmental legislation.

❗️Next week in my Cork office I want to debunk the myths, mistruths and to present the facts about the EU Nature Restoration Law.

@DaraCooney Hi Dara. With a collapse in pollinator population and with continued soil degradation and high nitrogen pollution of our rivers, agriculture needs more nature for more food production. If we expect farmers to help reverse this, then they should be remunerated for the work.

@pswalbe Hi pip! All evidence points to more food security not less when nature is restored. Without pollinators and with continuing degraded soil, agriculture will not be sustained. No farmers no food, no nature no farmers.

@paulatgreid1 Hi there! As I'm a substitute I don't have a direct vote in PECH, though I will in ENVI committee which has control over this file. Our Greens/EFA group votes as a block in favour of Nature Restoration in all committees 🌱

The Nature Restoration Law could be this European Parliament's greatest legacy 🇪🇺

The Citizens' Assembly called for it - now let's do it

An opportunity to put nature at the heart of EU policy, halt biodiversity loss, and ensure a food secure future.

@NatureNymph @Irishwildlife @greenparty_ie @GreensEFA True, up to recently I was full member and Group coordinator but an agreement was in place to swap with the amazing Caroline Roose MEP. On day-to-day however I still take on files, draft amendments and enter negotiations on behalf of the @GreensEFA Group as before.

@NatureNymph @Irishwildlife @greenparty_ie @GreensEFA Hi Oonagh I'm a substitute member of PECH so I don't have a vote unless filling in for a colleague. However, all of my fellow Greens/EFAs voted in support of the Nature Restoration Law.

I will vote on this in the Environment Committee, which has the final say.
