Meet Vanessa, a trainer from Portugal working in #Frontex training centre in Almada 🇵🇹
A sea border expert and PhD holder, Vanessa trains #StandingCorps candidates and coordinates our basic training programme 📓🏃♀️
She has trained almost 1000 #StandingCorps officers by now!
We've just wrapped up a search and rescue exercise in Constanta, Romania 🇷🇴 with over 80 experts from EU and non-EU countries and 🇪🇺 institutions participating.
The goal: share the countries’ experience within Frontex operations and practice rescue procedures 🆘

Happy Independence Day, Latvia! 🇱🇻 🇪🇺
Frontex currently has 54 🇱🇻 standing corps officers supporting 🇪🇺 countries at their external borders.
38 standing corps officers are deployed to Latvia, taking part in two operations.
Barcelona airport: Frontex standing corps officers are taking part in real shifts with local border and coast guards as part of their extended basic training.
They learn by doing in a real environment, under the supervision of a Frontex mentor and local officers from 🇪🇸
🆕 With the introduction of ETIAS next year, travellers from visa-free countries will need to apply for a travel authorisation to enter 30 European countries.

🔷 In the past week, the number of 🇺🇦 citizens entering the EU and Moldova was almost equal to the number of 🇺🇦 citizens leaving the EU
🔷 More than 221 thousand Ukrainians entered the EU and left the EU in the last seven days
🆕 In the first ten months of this year, about 275 500 irregular entries were detected at EU's external borders, up 73% compared with the same period of last year.
⬆️ This is the highest total for the January-October period since 2016.
