This short film is excellent. I feel quite chocked up - democratic voices organising & fighting back together are always so inspiring. Well done @alanvibe @sharrond62 & all @Togetherdec. Solidarity. To local politicians: NB how your unpopular etc are stirring up resistance

So what are we going to do?

A must read from @TimandraHarknes on that shocking @BigBrotherWatch report

Very good @danny__kruger. What is happening in Canada really is dystopia. Right to reveal it, and to warn about dangers for UK if we start down that path of assisted suicide. Glad that @BBCNewsnight did the item

Best speech of the day at 'debate' here in @UKHouseofLords was from @danielmgmoylan - bravo! Mind you, not much debate. Not surprising, but dispiriting that free speech concerns were marginalised.
RT @tfa4freedom: "I don't think that I ever signed up to wanting to live in a country that was the safest place in the world to be on the Internet, because if I had, I would have moved to China already where nothing is out of place." @danielmgmoylan

Despite government reassurances (and Lords focusing on the being ALL about protecting children) the majority of it threatens for ADULTS. Also legitimises political censorship - such as what was revealed in the Twitter files & @BigBrotherWatch report.

Anxious cos today's a big free speech day in @UKHouseofLords: 2nd reading of Online Safety Bill. Backbenchers only have 4 mins each cos time is tight. So why oh why has "Crusacean mortality in NE England" been given a 50-minute slot before we even begin? Priorities and all that.

In case you missed it, me amongst a hostile crowd on @BBCr4today debate assessing how Brexit is going three years on (mixed but no regrets) - featuring @campbellclaret @tonydanker & @Jacob_Rees_Mogg. Guest appearance from heckler Steve Bray livened up proceedings.

Later on, I gave a fairly hairy speech on buffer zones. The mood in the chamber was quite nasty, and I went off script, so it's not brilliant. It was a long debate too, so everyone was tetchy - including me.

Yesterday I posed a question to former police chief Lord Hogan-Howe in the Lords, asking why we need more laws for police when they won't use the public-order laws we already have. No wonder the public is frustrated...

Not for the first time, the most enthusiastic advocates of Remain/EU reveal their sneering, misanthropic views of the wrong kind of voters. This is just pure snobbish nastiness.
RT @DanHowdle: @Otto_English Blue passports. They're great cos when I show mine at the airport I get to feel viewed as a petty, nationalistic Neanderthal who spends most of his days sitting in a cardboard Spitfire making rat-a-tat-tat noises. With his anus.

We just had an XR-style short disruption of Lords. But even after that, I raised problems with the Public Order Bill. It might be sold to the public as targeting Just Stop Oil and the like, but it will be used against other causes - eg anti-LTN protests in Hackney and Haringey...

Excellent and important on the needs for editorial standards to ensure journalism reports on, not stirs up, emotionally driven panics.

Brilliant lampooning of ESG/Identity Politics in workplaces. Well done Howard & @DominicFrisby. Will cite it in my 241B amendment to Financial Services Bill, trying to ensure that banks/building socs/payment providers eg PayPal, can't cut off services based on users' wrong-think

So perceptive from @tomowolade. Irritating new fashionable way to shut down debate: when any of us raise concerns about potential negative consequences of identity politics on eg race or gender, we're accused of stoking culture wars. Tomiwa explains why so important to carry on.
