My first Lords speech of 2023 on the Financial Services & Markets Bill. I argued against Big Tech Payment Processing - like PayPal - suspending accounts to regulate speech and punish 'wrong think' as happened to @SpeechUnion and @UsforThemUK.

Terrible turn of events in #Brazil. This trend - to refuse to support democratic ideal of losers' consent if election result doen'r go yiur way (which we have seen here in UK post referendum, and of course in US) - taken to its logical extreme. Very dangerous.

Ahh, I loved Fay Weldon. Her support for @acadofideas was so appreciated, as was her irreverant, witty, caustic take on sacred cows and her stalwart support for free speech. One of those great women who makes an impact.
