My 1st go at moving a full set of amendments. After a muddled start, I made the argument that however unsavoury - indeed ghoulish - I find those who gather at abortion clinics targeting individual women, I oppose Clause 9 of the Public Order Bill's national catch-all ban... (1/2)
I'll enjoy hearing how @LabourLordsUK respond to this. On this at least, Starmer has my support. Sadly however, it will take a lot more than this to 'restore trust in politics'.

So Starmer assures us Brexit is safe in Labour's hands. But as Khan makes clear, is it hell. Mind you with Sunak/Hunt flirting with Swizz-like trade arrangements, hardly safe in Tory hands either. National sovereignty/accountability not popular with political leaders. Wonder why?

I'm afraid, fact that many uni lecturers insisted they weren't essential workers in Lockdown, that Higher Education didn't require face-to-face interaction etc, convinced many academia was 2nd order/dispensible. Always clear academia shooting itself in foot.

I tried to plough through legalese of the HE (Freedom of Speech) Bill to query if ‘civil tort’ & dependence on law courts will have a chilling effect. On the other hand, I’m nervous as those opposed try to make the Bill toothless as they underestimate campus cancel culture.
