RT @MaximumCities: "Today an SNP government that wants nothing to do with the British establishment seems to share its predilection for commissioning worthy panels for everything"

A reminder: for all Sturgeon's grievance-mongering against Westminster, the democratic deficit is in Scotland itself

Big question I want to know, who will sign up @KemiBadenoch to run DCMS and / or Education?
RT @Steven_Swinford: Truss and Sunak are already planning their cabinets

Truss:

Chancellor - Simon Clarke or Kwasi Kwarteng

Foreign sec - James Cleverly or Tom Tugendhat

Home sec - Therese Coffey under consideration

Dorries & Rees-Mogg would both get cabinet roles

@Saffrontulip @TheTartanCon But effective 23 hours in solitary confinement is inhumane. And was unnecessary. A scandal IMO.

RT @j_amesmarriott: I wrote this about how different and alien people in the past were. A recognisably "modern" personality developed in the eighteenth century and first appeared in the novels of Jane Austen - which is one of the most exciting things about reading her

RT @LiamSpender: 6/6 The government reiterated its plan to bring forward Phase 2 of leasehold reform in the next session (perhaps May / June 2023).

The recent has shown that residential leasehold is rotten, with too many fingers in the till.

Leasehold can't go soon enough.

This is hardly new news. Many were telling same re pretty barbaric conditions during Lockdown eg @TheTartanCon but as society felt locked up, prisoners low priority. But locked in cells for 23 hours. Can you imagine how utterly grim that would be?
