@paulkhammond @translunarmusic @DontDivideUsNow It was on a series of amendments to schools Bill about the topics I discussed. Amendments tabled by other peers. So no hijacking. But talking of hijacking, your sectarian sniping on here so often misses points I am making and you never even bother to engage politically I notice.
...I also challenged whether the amendments on promoting 'British Values' in schools would work, when we can't even agree on them outside of schools. (Btw I was heckled by David Blunkett, again. Shame, as I rather agreed with his speech!
Later on, I expressed my concerns about politicising curriculum and schools (eg on gender & critical race theory) and commended the new report from @DontDivideUsNow...
Backing up those amendments, trying to ensure there's not too much state over-reach into the rights of home educators, parental and religious freedom. When the state starts a mass data collection of children's details, should we not at least have safeguards / scrutinise closely?
