Too early to be coherent (sure trolls/critics will quip that is true at any time of the day), but about to discuss papers on @GBNEWS with @IsabelWebster_ and @StephenGBNews.

This advert for from @Future_Cities made me laugh. Good reasons to come along this weekend, even though his use someone else's electricity to keep warm a bit cheap-skate). Special promo for debates on housing/environmentalism & plug for @triggerpod/ @KonstantinKisin
RT @Future_Cities: Come along to the Battle of Ideas Festival in Church House, London and freely & openly discuss the energy crisis, Ukraine, China, the eco…

One problem with budget: Truss/Kwarteng didn't bother trying to sell it to Cabinet, backbenchers, never mind the public. Not strong on communication. Tonight @UKHouseofLords Minister referred to my speech as in praise of green growth. Wot? They don't listen either. BLOODY CHEEK!
RT @Fox_Claire: Everyone now says they're pro growth but I'm sceptical. Gov talk growth but still cling to net zero. Only idea is tax cutting, when no evide…

Everyone now says they're pro growth but I'm sceptical. Gov talk growth but still cling to net zero. Only idea is tax cutting, when no evidence that windfall will be invested in innovation/productivity/new industrial sectors. Because Lords, plenty still blaming Brexit. Pathetic.

Discussing all things @acadofideas with @andrewdoyle_com on @GBNEWS at 7.30pm. Why we need more public debate, more free speech, more open-minded discussion, more challenging orthodoxies, more dissent. All that & more at next weekend's festival battleofideas.org.uk/programme

Fair comment IMO
RT @ConorBurnsUK: 3/3 I hope the party will be as quick to conduct their enquiry as they were to rush to judgement.

Goodness; so humbling. This is what courage looks like.
I will quote this and remember Nika, when chairing keynote on COURAGE at @acadofideas on Oct 16th with @AliMirajUK @bindelj @BrunoBrussels @SunetraGupta & @timothy_stanley battleofideas.org.uk/session/c

Those who complain about those of us who take Culture Wars seriously take note: these language wars carry on regardless of whether we all stay quiet. Here local government socially engineering how we speak. Mum & Dad to be replaced by birthing parents etc thesun.co.uk/news/20018635/cou

I know a lot of you used to follow Mo Lovatt. She left Twitter but is now back on @M0L0VATT. Well worth following again, for great insights. Always has shrewd and thoughtful political takes.

Tbh Greenpeace helped Truss more than hindered. Made her anti-growth coalition come alive, allowed her to show resolve/hint of humour & united audience. Far bigger problem:Tory Party stuffed with anti-growth green-leaning MPs etc. And her growth plan too thin to make growth real

Fair criticism. Main issue IMO is way voters are being cut out of these shenanigans. Not even a feeble attempt at explaining Truss economic approach to public. Strategy & Uturns emerge from behind closed doors. Plea: treat us all as grown ups; be honest about & debate challenges.
RT @LizzyBuchan: Tory 2019 manifesto co-author Rachel Wolf says Liz Truss partly won the leadership race due to perceived loyalty to Boris Johnson - but th…

Here at Conservative Party Conference as an outsider. Speaking at & attending lots of fringe events. Main problem? No members of public or voters in debates so feels rather sterile, a safe space bubble . Bring on @acadofideas in 2 weeks Oct 15-16. See you there
RT @aoi_econ_forum: While the turmoil since the is grabbing all the headlines, the wider picture of economic troubles is being ignored. The Batt…

FGS...meanwhile the public is relegated to the sidelines, forced to watch passively as this lot play house of cards. Even any pretence of democracy is treated with contempt. This whole farce is utterly galling.
RT @steve_hawkes: Incredible stuff in the big read from @ShippersUnbound tonight “Former ministers are openly discussing what would happen if Truss was ousted. “There would have to be a leader by acclamation,” one said. “And…

Excellent analysis of present economic turbulance, its historic & short-term causes, failure of Truss/Kwarteng to grasp depth of problems & anti democratic nature of so many critics too eg IMF. A MUST LISTEN to @Phil_Mullan & @acadofideas colleagues @Robspiked & @jacobreynolds.
RT @acadofideas: The IMF might enjoy giving the Tories a telling off, but the superficiality of Truss & Kwarteng's growth-via-tax-cuts plan allows an open go…

Inside Lords this week: somber re grim economic challenges; my frustration with Tory strategy for not being too radical but not radical enough on growth & why other political issues shouldn't be put on hold. All more reason to come to Oct 15-16 youtu.be/LupLR9Li8Hw

Lot of symapthy with @IainDale. Trying to travel via @AvantiWestCoast today & it's hellish. Day before train strike, but practically all avanti trains north are cancelled. Can't blame unions for that. Infuriating for travellers though; people more mad about this than strike days

Hearing more of this complaint from 2019 Tory voters (but not members).
RT @TalkTV: Jenny in High Wycombe furiously hits out at the Tory party for getting rid of Boris Johnson as Labour reaches a 33-point lead in polling.

"How dare they? We had no say in that whatsoever, I am disgusted. They've just handed the next election to Starmer on a plate."

V balanced assessment of situation for Truss by @FraserNelson & why the way changes introduced shocked allies. One of her allies I know compared it being like Putin's generals. Yes they expected an offensive on tax cuts/East Ukraine but not full scale invasion. Left open-mouthed!
RT @FraserNelson: Liz Truss has shocked her own allies and is (already) dangerously close to the edge
