BBC now reporting it's seen evidence of Hamas raping/murdering women on Oct 7th. Tempting to ask where they've been. But I'm relieved. Gaslighting by much of media, casting doubt while horror in plain view, has felt like infuriating act of AS intimidation

I was worried when the senior deputy speaker, discussing the tone of Lords' debates, asked us to avoid 'argumentative language'. I asked about a possible chilling effect, and a danger of sanitising scrutiny. His reply reassured me... a bit.

Discussion about the Leasehold Bill today was a start, but SO lame. The government is only abolishing Leasehold for houses - not flats - despite the fact that the vast majority of LH are flats! Their excuse is that it's too complex. Well, I gave them a simple solution.

"Islamophobia definitions threaten free speech at 20+ universities". (I am no more keen on official Anti Semitism definitions adopted by academia btw - all unhelpful for academic freedom).

Yesterday, in a question on so-called Safe Access Zones around abortion clinics, I pointed out that the police seem confused about intimidation (eg arresting people for silent prayer), while ignoring it elsewhere (eg anti-Semitism outside MP surgeries etc).

Me, briefly on

on roots of today's antisemitism & defending right to protest (a fundamental freedom), yes, even of hate-filled bigots. Our liberties are precious & shouldn't be abandoned cos police are too timid to arrest open law-breakers on demos

Why leaseholders worry King's Speech doesn't go far enough: Anna Scoffin pays eye-watering £33,000 a yr service charge for her flat: “There’s no cap on it” she told i. “Will it rise to £40,000, £50,000? Will they expect me to eventually pay £100,000?"

Yesterday I took part in a Lords Israel debate, on why so many on the Identitarian Left have turned a blind eye to rise of Islamism, while creating its own brand of anti-Semitism. Regardless, the last thing we need is law makers clamping down on
