🚨 Two fugitives arrested in Romania as a result of cooperation between 🇸🇰 & 🇷🇴 Fugitive Active Search Teams.
Both fugitives had been hiding in Ukraine, and 1⃣ was on the #EUMostWanted list ⤵️

👮♀️👮♂️ Today, Executive Director Catherine De Bolle joined CEPOL’s Executive Director Montserrat Marin in signing an addendum extending our cooperation on jointly-organised training activities.
She also met Ferenc Vágujhelyi, State Secretary Commissioner for the 🇭🇺 National Tax & Customs Administration.
Europol works closely with Hungarian customs on a variety of issues, including money laundering & cross-border VAT fraud.
📍In Budapest today, Executive Director Catherine De Bolle met 🇭🇺 Minister of Interior Sándor Pintér & 👮♂️ Deputy High Commissioner Sándor Töreki to discuss Europol’s ongoing cooperation with Hungarian authorities to respond to threats stemming from the war in Ukraine.
👮👮 #EMPACT tackles the most important threats posed by organised & serious international crime affecting the EU.
🇪🇺🇺🇦 This week, the National EMPACT Coordinators met to further discuss next steps in addressing threats linked to the war in Ukraine.

🚨 Today in Dublin, 🇮🇪 @gardainfo launched the Criminal Justice Initiative "Cooperating at an Int'l Level in Protecting Communities from Organised & Serious Crime."
🇺🇸 @USTreasury also announced sanctions against the 🇮🇪 Kinahan crime group.
Yesterday, Europol, with @Europe2022FR & @EU_Commission, hosted a meeting under the leadership of the French #EMPACT coordinator to discuss coordinated operational actions for threats linked to the war in Ukraine.

👮 The meeting took place under the #EMPACT framework.
🇦🇹, 🇩🇪, 🇭🇺 & 🇷🇴 authorities dismantled violent family-based criminal network involved in human trafficking for forced begging.
🚔 The investigation, supported by Europol & @Eurojust, led to 4 arrests & the seizure of over EUR 90 000 & LEI 9 400.

Today, Executive Director De Bolle hosted an operational call with all 27 EU heads of criminal police or operations.
Europol works closely with 🇪🇺 LEA to review key threats, enhance intelligence sharing, & adapt our operational responses to security threats from the war in 🇺🇦.
