Synergies between the #EU’s Horizon 2020 research programme & the European Structural and Investment Funds are not being fully exploited. Auditors found:
◽️Lack of building blocks to create synergies
◽️Silo-based structures that prevent using the funds in a complementary way.

In the frame of @incosai2022 International Congress, the ECA has been appointed as the Chair of the Professional Standard Committee (PSC) and is now a member of the Governing Board of #INTOSAI
#EU financial assistance for coal regions has had a limited impact on both jobs and the energy transition.
We call for the new Just Transition Fund to be used efficiently to alleviate the socio-economic impact on coal regions of the 🇪🇺 transition towards climate neutrality ↓
Although coal was still actively being mined in 11 #EU countries, in 2020 over 60% of hard coal consumed in the EU was imported, Russia being the main source of these imports.
