EU Twinning Project Officially Launch!

Hon Lucia Iipumbu, Minister of @MinistryofIT said the revised National Quality Policy 2020-2025 will enable Namibias products to be on par with international standards. This #EUTwinningProject will ensure the successful implementation of Namibias National Quality Policy
@SinikkaAntila added, this Twinning project will contribute to the implementation & achievement of the revised National Quality Policy 2020-2025. Similarly, specific project objectives include strengthening of NSI to, e.g. to align national standards to EU & international ones.
@EU2Namibia Amb. @SinikkaAntila said the programme covers a 2year period & amounts to EUR 1.600.000. Twinning programmes bring people & institutions from different countries together, providing opportunity to share problems & solutions, learn from each other & create friendships.
Sweden Amb to Namibia, Hakan Juholt in a virtual message acknowledges the importance of free and fair trade. He’s proud of the initiative and that Sweden and Namibia are active partners of the #EUTwinningProject
Germany Amb. to Namibia, Herbert Beck is confident that the highly experienced team will enable Namibia to increase its economic trade on the international market. The #EUTwinningProject is the first of its kind in SADC
Dr Thomas Zeilke, Director for National & International Standardization - Germany Economic Ministry notes that the #EUTwinningProject will enhance Namibia’s participation to international trade agreements and boost its trade and economic growth.
Namibia Standards Institution CEO Chie Wasserfall said the overall goal of the EU twinning project is to enhance trade and stimulate economic growth by supporting the Namibian Standards Institution (NSI) in carrying out its mandate.
Launch of the EU Twinning project titled: “Support to Namibian Standards Institution” at Whk Country Club in Namibias capital, Windhoek.
EU Ambassador to Namibia, H.E. @SinikkaAntila announced the EU Multi-Annual Investment programme with Namibia for the period 2021-2027 with an initial allocation of 37 million Euros.

Europe Day was observed yesterday, May 9, 2022, under the theme "United for Peace." Young people are vocally engaging for peace in Namibia, Europe and Worldwide. It is no coincidence that 2022 is the "European Year of Youth."
