My lasting memory of Mikhail Gorbachev is watching him meet George HW Bush in stormy Malta to signal the end of the Cold War.

It inspired hope of a better, freer world. It meant walls torn down & led to Europe's reunification.

His legacy will be remembered.
May he rest in peace
