The EP in its resolution from 2021 expressed regret that, despite the #PDCA’s adoption, the situation of #democracy & human rights has seriously deteriorated. While PDCA includes a clause making its implementation conditional on the improvement of freedoms & human rights in Cuba.

According to NGOs, eg. Frente Hemisferico por la Libertad, aid often ends up in the hands of Cuban #Communist Party's upper echelons, police & military forces & is spent on oppressive tools used against protesters. By this 🇪🇺 contributes to strengthening the totalitarian regime.

Since 1988, the EU has funded over 200 development projects in #Cuba for 300 million EUR. 80 projects for 155 million EUR are still ongoing.

Little is known on how these funds are spent.

Last year in HU the #employment rate for women aged 15-64 rose to 70%, according to Trenkwalder. The number of working-age #women in employment has increased sharply over the past 10 years, from 55.7 % in 2012 to 69.9 % in 2022.

I feel that they have understood: ratifying the Nordic countries' accession to #NATO is a serious and responsible decision for the Hungarian MPs. Bilateral relations must be put in order, and the #Finns must also treat us with respect, just the way we treat them.
