While Europe sinks billions into arms, we ignore an ever deepening humanitarian catastrophe. @WFP announced it must cut back in #Afghanistan, to prioritise the starving. $300m a day for 20 years to wage a war, but now #Afghans are sanctioned while they starve. This is barbarism.

Rule of law conditionality should apply to all member states. When we apply it to #Hungary and #Poland, and not to extreme departures from #ruleoflaw in #Greece, #Spain, #France and the rest, we undermine the credibility of the whole mechanism.
