We were supposed to be addressing rule of law problems in #Hungary AND #Poland.

Finally actions are proposed, but only for Hungary? Where is Poland? Why? Because Hungary didn't toe the line on Russia?

Blatantly geopolitical. Shameful for those in Poland waiting for EU action.

Vote tomorrow EU's energy crisis plan. Here is what I said last month. Fossil fuel consumption was always unsustainable. But this crisis has created a bonanza for energy companies, while families and homes are hit with unpayable price hikes. We need publicly owned energy now!

Hungary is guilty of many rule of law violations. But using its vote on the Council, as provided in the treaties, cannot be one of them. That IS the law!

Attacking the lawful use of treaty powers erodes the rule of law, plays into Orbán's hands and is itself authoritarian.

#EU countries helped #NATO make a hell out of #Libya. Now the EU collaborates with acts of murder, torture and rape carried out there.

It pretends concern for human rights, but always elsewhere. Libya is always forgotten.
