On fossil fuels:
For the first time in three decades of climate negotiations the words fossil fuels have made it into a COP outcome. We are finally naming the elephant in the room. The genie is never going back into the bottle & future COPs will only turn the screws even more on dirty energy.

@CarolineLucas This tightening of the screws would have worked 30 years ago. Now we’re on track to climate collapse unless emissions are reduced very fast, which means phasing out fossil fuels, among other measures. The COP negotiators somehow agreed unanimously that this isn’t the case; & taking urgency out.
A gift 🎁 for the fossil fuel industry. Next try next year in another petrostate, while we continue, at an accelerating rate, to turn Earth 🌍 into an unlivable planet.
