Govt talking today about migration in terms of numbers alone ignores people & facts behind the stats – like refugees from Ukraine & Hong Kong, like students & their families. It’s a deliberate tactic from Ministers to stoke hatred & division, & distract from their own failings 🧵

@CarolineLucas as someone who has migrated to France I can say that I go out of my way to integrate locally plus I pay my tax in France. I am in the country contributing but with no cost to the country.
Migration enriches our communities & we all deserve a Govt that prepares for changes it brings. Not 13 yrs of austerity that's destroyed community resilience & public services. Not a ramping up hard-right rhetoric. Not blaming migrants for pressure on schools, housing & the #NHS.
