RT @GreenJennyJones: The policy of unlimited fines on Water Companies for dumping #sewage is a good idea and the ££ should go directly to river restoration, not the Treasury. BUT tough enforcement is lacking, plus some of the ecosystems are destroyed, possibly irrecoverable. This Govt has allowed it.

The new policy for stopping the boats is to make the water thick enough with sewage they can't reach the shoreline.
The next problem will be stopping people walking over a bridge of semi-solid shite from here to France, so look out for the government's tough new stance on walking coming this summer.
@CarolineLucas The env. agencies have been reduced to dust; it's rare that they will even show much interest in pollution events, let alone prosecute the offenders. They are also far too cosy with the water companies, often seeing themselves in some form of partnership.
