Disappointing @bhlabour voted with Tories to kill off LTNs in @BrightonHoveCC budget, foregoing opportunity to make scheme work for everyone in later committees. Local climate assembly made schemes to cut neighbourhood traffic a priority, now Lab & Tories have undermined progress

Supporting climate action in principle is meaningless, if chance to deliver it is thwarted - incl deferring Elm disease spending which protects city's precious trees. Time is of essence to tackle #climateemergency & help #Brighton #Hove residents - @bhlabour just made that harder

@bhlabour calling these proposals a "vanity project" will be news to their own councillors around the country supporting them. They agree we need liveable, healthy local communities - but they're putting cynical electioneering before the wellbeing of #Brighton & #Hove residents.
