I wonder what AOC stands for. 🤦🏾♀️Is it that hard to want to know the truth? She doesn’t call for an investigation of UNRWA, she doesn’t act against Islamic terrorism, she blindly asks the West to throw tax payers money away and even if there are serious indications that it is used to finance or support terrorism. She should know that destroying Hamas is the best that can happen to Palestinians and Israelis. Foreign affairs is a serious matter. It is sad and dangerous that populists like AOC use it for political propaganda. Dear
https://nitter.cz/AOC
please indulge yourself read some books, sit and think. When it comes to Jewish girls where is your feminist side? Also start to realise you are elected to represent the American people and Western values, not foreign destructive forces. But this is obviously too much to ask of you.
Anyway, I won’t hold my breath.

UN Women leader Patten said the victims of october 7 sexual violence must speak up. Well, they did but you did not listen. The images did too but you kept you eyes shut.
The victims need us to stand up for them. They need UN Women to be committed to its mission. You have let them down. Your words are empty, painful and too late. They carry no energy and no compassion and no quest for justice. Because we saw zero action against rape as a weapon of war from your side.
These women need us to be their voice.

This morning I have submitted this parliamentary question about UNRWA. It is my duty as representative of the people to be their voice and ask for answers to such serious issues. Do we, yes or no, pay for Islamic terrorism with European citizens’ money?
In response to the extremely serious allegations by Israel about the involvement of UNRWA personnel in the October 7th terrorist attack, the European Commission stated that it will assess further steps and draw lessons based on the result of the full and comprehensive investigation.
I urge the EU and its Member States to suspend funding of UNRWA pending the investigation. Belgium is one of the last EU countries who still did not take action, whilst chairing the Union.
Is this acceptable ? I don’t think so.
It is not the first time the European Commission hears about this issue.
In October, I already asked a priority question on the attack on Israel and demanded checks on whether European aid funds are not ending up with the Islamic terror group Hamas. Until today, I have not received a reply.
On December 6th, I requested the Commission to issue a full review of EU financial assistance to Palestine. Again, I have not yet seen an answer.
But I do not give up and this time I do not only expect the EU High representative to answer my question, but also that he will take concrete action. The victims of terrorism, as well as European taxpayers, deserve his full attention.

Lack of common sense. Belgian development minister Caroline Gennez wants to continue funding Hamas through UNRWA. She is so blinded by electoral considerations that she has lost all critical faculties. 7 countries have already suspended funding by UNRWA including Italy, Finland and the Netherlands. The least Belgium can do is stop immediately with funding and urge the entire European Union, which it currently holds the presidency, to suspend funding to UNRWA as well pending a thorough investigation.
Besides the Belgian presidency is supposed to be neutral because it chairs the EU for the coming six months. The EU should have a common position. Given the seriousness of the accusations, it should at least be possible to suspend the funding. After all, we are talking about European peoples’ money. How can we have so little respect for taxpayers' money and for our European values?
Taxpayers' money must be respected. Don't waste it and especially don't use it to fund terrorism. Is that too much to ask?

What does UNRWA stand for ? I call for a full and independent investigation into
https://nitter.cz/search?q=%23UNRWA
from top to bottom: management, use of ressources including human, infrastructures and textbooks. European money must be protected and traced until its final beneficiary. A full audit is urgently needed. The Belgian presidency needs to look into the fact that European tax payers money is probably used by UNRWA to violate our biggest values and support Hamas, a terror group that uses civilians in Gaza as human shield, still holds innocent hostages and is a threat to the West.
Remember: Hamas terrorists killed raped, burned and kidnapped innocent in the name of Allah. With the complicity of whoever gives them money and shelter.
Free Europe, Israël, and Gaza from Hamas.

Did banks in South Africa finance Hamas? An investigation by the Jerusalem Post reveals a South African network that provides funds to the terrorist organisation, pretending to support charitable activities,
https://nitter.cz/lalibrebe
writes. To stop Hamas, we must also stop the sources of its funding. They collect money, not only through traditional means but also through crypto-currencies.
I therefore also want to speed up the strict crypto rules to counter Hamas funding.
The terror group Hamas appears to have hundreds of crypto accounts used to raise funds. Crypto currencies are also used to move revenue.
On behalf of the European Parliament, I negotiated a law last year to make it easier for authorities to track crypto transactions of criminals and terrorists. For instance, crypto platforms must keep good records of who their customers are and cooperate compulsorily in investigations. The law received almost unanimous support in the European Parliament.
Officially, the new rules only take effect at European level from the end of 2024. I call on member states and the Belgian presidency to take steps now and work with crypto platforms to stop Hamas money flows. This cooperation is badly needed to keep crypto currencies safe for well-intentioned investors while keeping terrorists out of the crypto world.

Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day. “Sadly, after October 7th, the resurgence of antisemitism means that the hate of the past is still with us. Jews are again not feeling safe living in Europe. After the Holocaust, this should be unacceptable. Never again should truly mean never again.”
Irene Shashar is a Holocaust survivor.
Her speech in the European Parliament today touched my heart. Today she is 86 years old. The nightmare is the ordeal Irene Shashar went through as age 5, the violent hatred of being a hidden child and seeing her mother work for their survival simply because they were Jewish is still present 80 years later. Will her grand children live in a world where Jews are not scared ? Will Jews be free and safe everywhere in Europe ?
“My grand children have their whole future in front of them and it breaks my heart to see them growing up in war. I hoped and I believed that I payed the price. And yet, my grand children must fight to defend their right to life in a Jewish state.” Irene Shashar added.
Never again must indeed mean never again. We must fight antisemitism and make sure the hate stops with us. It is our responsibility.
We must keep our priorities clear: the hostages must be freed and returned to their loved ones. Justice must prevail. Hamas must disappear. No racism or antisemitism will be tolerated.
To listen to Irene Shashar during Holocaust Remembrance day, I was wearing the scarf of a Jewish woman I met recently. Around her neck and close to her heart, this scarf used to give her comfort and accompanied her in so many places. Witnessed as it was thrown around by the wind, what was going on in her heart. She too hopes her grand children will not be hated and scared because they are Jewish. She hopes they will be seen as people not reduced to one aspect of their identity.
They know what happened in October 7. One day a child asked me in a s…

Be serious about what Hamas truely is and why failed integration is dangerous for Europe.
Today, Belgian minister Gennez said in the European Parliament 's development committee that if the EU wants to have more geopolitical impact, we should speak with one voice when it comes to international conflicts. I am surprised she knows that because to do so, we first have to defend the same values, European values.
Not appeasing radical Islam, not underestimating the dangers of a terror group like Hamas, and respecting what the European Parliament voted. Namely release the hostages first, wipe Hamas off the map and then, ceasefire. In that order.
No more silence about the atrocities that Jewish women faced. Be serious about what the Shoah is.
Once Minister Gennez agrees to this instead of continuing to use failed integration for electoral gain, the EU she is part of will move one step closer to unity and dignity.

Better justice builds safer countries and homes for our citizens. Proud and grateful that the Civil Liberties Committee almost unanimously (98%) adopted my draft report on establishing EU rules for the transfer of criminal proceedings in cross-border cases. This legislation is a crucial step towards better judicial cooperation and faster law enforcement. This is particularly important when investigating cross border organised crime such as terrorism, human, drugs and firearm trafficking, migrant smuggling, cybercrime or money laundering. Victims wait too long. We are now ensuring that justice in EU-countries works better and faster and that our citizens are protected and respected

Onderwijs moet kritische burgers opvoeden.

Hier in Europa.
Dit maakt me bezorgd.

https://nitter.cz/SammyMahdi

That the left plays with this to garner votes no longer surprises me. What surprises me is that the chairman of a Christian party compares the Holocaust to the war in Gaza after young people just visited Auschwitz. How is this possible?
If anything resembles the Shoah, it is what happened in Israel on October 7: a pogrom involving the deliberate killing, rape, beheading and kidnapping of people because they are Jews. As a result, war broke out.
What chairman
https://nitter.cz/SammyMahdi
should do now: apologise to the Jewish community and visit Auschwitz himself as soon as possible because apparently there is still a lot to learn about the Holocaust. Talk to Jewish children about what their daily life is like in Europe - with the fear due to rising antisemitism and too much indifference.
More people should visit Auschwitz.
The images of piles of hair, glasses, suitcases, shoes, personal belongings remain etched in your mind. The victims were people like you and me, but reduced to one aspect of their identity and therefore slaughtered. With the energy of the same hatred with which people were humiliated and murdered in Israel on October 7. For who they are. That hatred and violence, which some people continue to deny even now, is very dangerous.
Having an opinion on the war in Gaza is one thing. But this comparison is not only tasteless, it is dangerous because as a politician, you are a role model.
We must never forget history.

Does our foreign affairs leader realise that the point now is to free the hostages and put terror organisation Hamas down? A terror organisation that is a threat to everyone and not only to Israel.
I feel ashamed that European diplomacy is represented in such an unserious way.

Borrell’s plan should be to build a global coalition against Hamas and have a closer look at Jihadisme in West Africa and its supporters in Europe.

We must unequivocally condemn Hamas' brutal terrorist attack on Israeli civilians on 7 October 2023, which triggered the current crisis situation.
All hostages must be released.
Hamas must be dismantled.
Only then, there can be a ceasefire.
Hamas is the worst thing for Israeli and Palestinians. A clear threat to the free world. Dismantling Hamas must be a global priority.
Today the European Parliament came to its senses about this. We must continue working to protect European Values.
Remember what happened on October 7. I watched the IDF footage. It leaves me until now shaken to my core.
Seeing a family driving to a kibbutz being shot in the car. Children running for their life because they exist. And just wanted to play a game in their own house. Children seeing their parents executed in front of them because they are Jews. One child cried and says “why am I alive”?
The young people running to leave the festival and Hamas terrorist shooting them on sight and using snipers.
The women and girls broken and in a position that clearly shows sexual violence occurred. All the dead bodies along the streets.
The burned bodies. People including families burned alive. How they cut the head of a dead person just for fun. How they insist on taking pictures. Using a knife to behead a soldier. The cutting lasting and lasting and lasting. All the dead bodies along the streets or thrown out of cars. The relaxed attitude of the killers make me shiver.
The permanent shouting of Allah Akbar and cheering of the killers who are proud and happy for killing who they repeatedly call “dogs”. The Jews and their families. One terrorist shouts “this one is not dead yet, shoot it in the head”. Speaking of young girls in a house. The screaming of the people at the festival.
They enter a kindergarten...
You see them putting a woman in a jeep and her jogging trousers are sunk in blood.
A young terrorist call…

Some political parties take certain positions purely to win over the vote of certain ethnic and religious minorities who dont comply with European values. That is the reason of their silence. This is despicable. Silence in the face of injustice is complicity. I believe that indifference is the tomb of our future. We must always speak for justice. I spoke in New York on Martin Luther King day about antisemitism, the weaponisation of rape and the silence of certain feminists and politicians. I had the honour of exchanging views with the participants. Here is a short extract from my speech. The

On his birthday yesterday, 15 January, I was honoured to speak in New York about women rights and antisemitism during a conversation in the light of his legacy. We must continue defending our values and protecting the European way of life. Defending women rights and fighting antisemitism. Europe lives in denial and is currently letting itself down by adapting to forces who are against us instead of pushing for respect of its own legacy. This must change.
