Great meeting yesterday with @SecretaryPete in Washington. High on the agenda were our #solidaritylanes and support for Ukraine as well as Moldova. Maritime transport and e-mobility, including electric-vehicle charging infrastructure and innovation were also discussed.

Both grants were won by Romania in a call for projects dedicated to military mobility, a call that was very competitive, with many good projects from all over the 🇪🇺. #cef #militarymobility #solidaritylanes

Today I handed over two grants totalling €60 million to 🇷🇴 beneficiaries. The 1st grant will increase transport capacity and better connect the port of Constanta to the rail network. The 2nd project involves the construction of a new bridge at Ungheni across the river Prut.

This is a new step in a closer relationship with the 🇪🇺!
Next CEF call in September, of 2,5 billion EUR, will now be also open for 🇲🇩 to improve the connection of its network to the 🇪🇺 and will also help to reinforce our Solidarity Lanes with Ukraine.

On Europe’s day, 🇲🇩 joins the CEF to improve its connectivity to the 🇪🇺 and get closer!
With today’s signature, Moldova is the first country to join CEF allowing it to apply for EU funding & improve its connectivity with the European Union.

Today at @EU_CoR I was handed an open letter signed by more than 40 mayors in support of the 🇪🇺#MissionCities. I am pleased to see such motivation from EU cities to reach climate neutrality by 2030. EU cities are at the forefront to acting on #climatechange and the energy crisis.
