by Bulgarian MEPs & members of the Delegation notably by Mr Dzhambazki (ECR) and Mr Yordanov (EPP) on the issue of North Macedonia. The statements in question include inflammatory language and threats aimed at the country, citizens and officials of North Macedonia, (2)

& are made at a time when provocations - coming from both sides of the border - threaten to aggravate an already complex situation. Such hate speech, defamatory & discriminatory language may seriously harm relations between the EP and the Assembly of North Macedonia, (3)

This kind of inflammatory language needs to be discouraged & its utmost important to reduce any tensions between MEPs and North Macedonia.
#Bulgaria and North Macedonia need to continue their efforts towards good neighbourly relations. (5)

and we wish to express our concern over the impact such statements may have on the perception of not just the #EP but of the #EU as a whole. We therefore urge @EP_President Metsola in an official letter to look into this matter with the full authority of her office. (4)
