I welcome that #Cyprus has engaged on large-scale judicial reforms to alleviate the backlog of cases and improve the overall efficiency of the justice system. This is a good step to reinforce #RuleOfLaw in 🇨🇾 ⤵️

In the meeting, I also reiterated that despite the suspension of the 🇨🇾 investor citizenship scheme, the fact that the scheme’s legal basis has not yet been repealed is a matter of concern for the 🇪🇺 Commission.

Finally, I also underlined the importance of ensuring the full enforcement of the EU sanctions in #Cyprus 🇨🇾
I invite 🇨🇾 authorities to continue to further investigate potential circumvention of sanctions and share information as part of the 🇪🇺 Freeze & Seize Task Force.
