If the European Union wants to have an impact in foreign policy, it needs to speak with one voice.

Three simple starting points:

1. Majority voting.
2. One seat in the UN Security Council.
3. Use available tools together, not individually.

Realistic? No. Doable? Yes.

It is completely pointless to talk about strategic autonomy if it actually means driving the interests of a single country.

It is equally pointless to talk about the EU as a single foreign policy entity if it means projecting the power nostalgia of only one of its members.

.@vonderleyen and @JosepBorrellF doing an excellent job in projecting a common European foreign policy.

It is an uphill battle, but can be achieved step-by-step. The solutions will always be sub-optimal, but the direction is clear.

One step closer to a geopolitical Commission.
