In Kailali, @EUAmbNepal & @finlandinnepal ambassadors visited Kamaiya and Kamalari communities supported by @FCA_global. Kamaiyas and Kamalaris are former bonded labourers who gained freedom in 2000 but still suffer from many forms of marginalization

First the ambassadors visited vegetable farms at the Khamaura Freed Kamaiya Settlement in Godawari Municipality, Kailali, supported by the @FCA_global led Freed Kamaiya Women’s Development Forum. Farmers have received four kathas of land each from the government to do farming

Then an interaction was held with the Forum’s REFLECT programme members, which was centred around freed Kamaiya community members learning about their own marginalisation and demanding rights and rehabilitation from the government as a collective.
