In Kailali, @EUAmbNepal & @finlandinnepal ambassadors visited Kamaiya and Kamalari communities supported by @FCA_global. Kamaiyas and Kamalaris are former bonded labourers who gained freedom in 2000 but still suffer from many forms of marginalization

First the ambassadors visited vegetable farms at the Khamaura Freed Kamaiya Settlement in Godawari Municipality, Kailali, supported by the @FCA_global led Freed Kamaiya Women’s Development Forum. Farmers have received four kathas of land each from the government to do farming

At the Chepkatla Freed Kamaiya Settlement, a new rice mill built in February with support from @fca_global is providing community members with easy access to rice, flour & feeds for their pigs at low prices. The mill is managed by the community & is earning them a monthly income.
