Industrial carbon removal won't work due to energy inefficiency. As countries scale back on oil, there will be energy scarcity.
Using power to remove CO2 is using power & resources that will be needed to sustain essential services (for a modern society).
Nature based solutions to sequester carbon need scaling up. That generally means habitat restoration (so a win win solution).
But industries promote profit first ideologies.
